This book constitutes the proceedings of the 18th Russian Conference on Artificial Intelligence, RCAI 2020, held in Moscow, Russia, in October 2020.
The 27 full papers and 8 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 140 submissions. The conference deals with a wide range of topics, including data mining and knowledge discovery, text mining, reasoning, decisionmaking, natural language processing, vision, intelligent robotics, multi-agent systems,machine learning, AI in applied systems, and ontology engineering.

History
RCAI is the annual (until 2018 – biennial) conference organized by Russian Association for Artificial Intelligence and held since 1988. RCAI covers a whole range of AI sub-disciplines: Machine Learning, Reasoning, Planning, Natural Language Processing etc. Since 2018 selected high-quality papers of RCAI are published in English. Recent conference history includes RCAI 2019 in Ulyanovsk, RCAI 2018 in Moscow, 2016 in Smolensk, and goes back to RCAI 1988 held in Pereslavl-Zalessky. Submission Requirements
Full papers have to be in English and formatted according to the Springer CCIS guideline.
Full papers (12-15 pages, excluding references) are expected to report on new research that makes a substantial technical contribution to the field. Examples of work suitable for full paper submissions include novel ideas; important implementation techniques; novel interesting benchmark problems; experimental studies; interesting applications that are not yet completely solved or analyzed; position or challenge papers. Additional details may be included in an appendix, which, however, will be read at the discretion of the PC.
Submission will be through the EasyChair conference management system – https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=caics2020. Please select the "Russian Conference on Artificial Intelligence 2020" track. If you do not work for a Russian organization, you can leave the fields with Russian-language versions empty.
Templates: LaTeX or for Word. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers.
All papers will be subject to blind peer review based on the standard criteria of relevance, the significance of results, originality of ideas, soundness, and quality of the presentation. Conference proceedings will be indexed in SCOPUS.
An author can submit no more than two papers.

History of RAAI
Russian Association for the Artificial Intelligence is the largest national academic body in the field, uniting more than 500 members, and is the most competent academic AI organization in Russia. Since 1988 RAAI organizes biennial national conferences on Artificial Intelligence (RCAI), summer schools, publish its scientific journal (Artificial Intelligence and Decision Making).
